“Just put aside what is written on the label, and focus on what you smell and taste”
Ari Erle – “I was born in the Napa Valley and made Aliyah in 1994, joining the IDF during my freshman year at the University of Washington. Later I completed my degree at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in Political Science.
“After working in Jewish non-profits for several years, I decided to make a major career switch. I went back to school to study viticulture and oenology at the Napa Valley College and UC Davis.
“I had the opportunity to work with some of Napa’s leading vintners before making the decision to combine my two great passions: winemaking and Israel. I joined Elie Wurtman and together we created Bat Shlomo Vineyards. In addition to my work at Bat Shlomo, I teach practical winemaking at the Ohalo College in Katzrin and I’m a self-employed wine consultant.
“I believe that wine drinking, above all, should be fun and enjoyable. Just put aside what is written on the label, and focus on what you smell and taste. Drink and enjoy”.
