“Rumor has it that the Prime Minister’s office ordered 200 of these not long ago.”
If you go to Italy and ask for a Machane Yehudah pizza, Italians will probably raise their eyebrows at you and throw you out of the shop.
“That will never happen here,” says Matan Sofri, manager at Bardak Pizza in Jerusalem.
Bardak – Russian slang that means “a mess” – is the hottest pizza parlor in Jerusalem, offering a creative pizza menu with a twist. Each pizza carries the name of a different Jerusalem neighborhood and shows its uniqueness through its toppings. Along with the pizza, they are proud to offer you a selection of locally brewed, boutique-crafted beers.
“What’s the most popular pizza?” “Machane Yehudah,”answers Matan. Rumor has it that the Prime Minister’s office ordered 200 of those not long ago.
Here’s the recipe:
After preparing and flattening the pizza dough, add a hard-boiled egg, tahini, roasted eggplant, goat cheese and parsley.
Bon appetite!
