Surf’s up!

You might say I was a late bloomer when it comes to surfing: I used to hate the beach, the salty water, getting sand in my shoes. It wasn’t until senior year of high school when I had my first surfing lesson – that’s when I fell in love.

The only thing I like more than surfing is teaching kids how to surf. Helping them get up on the board and balance, you see their self-esteem rise and their social skills improve. Most importantly, they’re having fun.

At the end of our lessons, I give each one of them a high-five and let them know how well they did, how much they are improving. There’s nothing better than seeing their happy faces at the end of a lesson.
